I am ambivalent about turning 18. 18 means that I can go to the pharmacist to get medicine with free consultation (ha!) but it also means that I have to pay the full price for consultation at the polyclinic! Looking at the receipt, I just realised that I had paid 50% of the whole fee!! Haha.. Polyclinic rocks.. I wouldn't mind visiting the doc again if they are so nice..

My ear has recovered. I even managed to swim on sat! All thanx to the doc and her nose exercises. I've been doing the nose exercises 10 times a day ever since.

We had to run 2.4 km today and I missed the B grade by 7s!!!! But luckily it's all over now. Haha... Don't have to worry about 2.4 anymore. I felt like vomitting my breakfast after the run. And as I've told Xian, I swallowed whatever that was going to come out with one big gulp of air :) Didn't want to vomit the chilli and the remnants of the curry puff.. Haha.. Later people think I'm vomitting blood.. Haha..

Finally plucked up my courage to see a doc about my blocked ear today. The pharmacist couldn't prescribe me a medicine as I was below 18. So I went to polyclinic after lunch. The whole consultation and everything was rather fast. The doc was really friendly. She examined my ears and said that they were okay. She gave me some nasal spray for the ears.. (weird rite?)
I saw Jolene at the polyclinic.. Somehow, she reminded me of my cousin.

Kayaking tomorrow. Hoping for good weather. Don't feel good lately..

Blocked ears

My head was spinning when I woke up this morning. Haiz.. On top of that, my right ear is blocked. Kind of irritating coz I can constantly hear the vibrations of the eardrum in my ear. Beautiful afternoon today. Perfect weather for swimming. But I couldn't go.. Dun wanna worsen the ear. Hopefully the blockage is due to the wax or flu and nothing serious. It's getting better already. Chem spa trial tomorrow and I've yet to study... Sheesh.. I'm generating negative energy in me.. Bad mood this week.

Basketball tomorrow... Yucks.. We got thrashed so badly last week. The only consolation is that it's ending soon. Skipping 3 consecutive weeks of mon pe..haha... next mon is labour day, following mon is seasports heats and next,next,next mon is i dunno what la..forgotten..

Everyone's getting sick everywhere. The weather killed all my plans of swimming today. Haiya.. All my 'energy' is still stored inside me, waiting to be released. Hopefull I didn't eat in vain. Haha.. Should have taken the no 3 bus instead. Made a mistake of waiting for a 21 bus and as a result, rain kept blowing from all directions. So I was already wet before I could even board the bus. Was into a cam whoring session with other people's phone juz now. Wooo... beautiful pics I took..haha... As a pre-emptive measure from getting sick, I took the yellow tablet for flu. Damn..why can't it continue raining while I'm at home. Nice weather now but too bad I can't go swimming already. Got house meeting tomorrow to think of other cheers for the house.. And I've gotta teach the class these cheers by next tues!! Haiz.. It would bo so awkward la, can I not do it? Juz show the cheers and somehow, yeah somehow let them figure out.. Haha.. Or enlist the help on my beloved friends.. Muahahaha.... But I doubt it's possible.. It's, to a certain extent, quite embarassing. It will be even worse when everyone's waiting for each other to open their mouths and cheer..

Tired

Slept in the library for like 30 mins today... Wonderful sleep.. Normally I don't sleep in school except to doze off during lectures, this breaks my spotless record. Neck was aching slightly and I was 5 mins late for gp lesson!! haha.. Nevertheless, still managed to finish half of the AQ. Hopefully it dosen't rain tomorrow so I can go for swimming right after the extra class..

Carnival

The carnival attracted all kinds of people. My first patron to the booth was a mother and her P5 kid. So we had to modify the questions to addition and multiplication of fractions. (the questions werre designed for sec3 and 4 students) So impromptu. Luckily Li Song was there to help. Then, a father and his Kindergarten daughter. So I had to give questions like 1+2+3 blah blah... The worst thing was the father kept helping his daughter so I had to give harder questions as I wanted Li song to win :P haha... I gave something like 1+2+3+...+10!!!! I certainly wouldn't mind li song letting the girl win if not for the father though. So yeah, the morning was rather slow as there weren't many people. Our own students also played the game so I was kept busy. Some teachers also expressed desire to play the game!! Haha... Our booth was rather sparsely decorated and I kinda felt embarassed bout it though.. Haha...

Then it was lunch. Went to mac with darrell, lin hui, chaos, yi sheng, val and xian. Mac's fries is really getting worse. Quite soggy. After lunch, I tried climbing the rock wall!!! With help from my friends, I managed to climb about 3/4 of the rock wall!! Haha... I was quite scared whilst climbing and it didn't help that I kept looking down for assurance. Whoo!!! Quite embarrasing also la.. coz I think quite a lot of people also see and I made quite a lot of noise up there..

After that, Xian, me and val played twister!!! It was strenous.. Muscles aching after that. But it reminded me very much of the times we used to play the game at tab's house.

Packed up at 3.45pm and distributed the rest of the presents amongst ourselves. Overall, there weren't many people at the carnival cum open house. I hope the school will have an open house later in the year though for the benefit of the sec school students..

Busy week ahead.. Hopefully I can find time to go swimming. :)

The skit today wasn't really successful, I should say. The lead went missing for a good part of the skit. The wolf was sick (cannot blame la) but worst of all, the narrator was not from the programme!! I mean, one would expect a child from the programme to read right?( Even though he is not really good at it). To display his reading ability and blah blah... Wads the freaking point of asking someone who may be a better reader but not from the programme to read?! It's deceiving...

Never expected myself to be a propagandist today..haha...

Ate fast food thrice in two days!! mac on sat, mac for today morning (free) and ljs for lunch. Managed to read 8 daes at times!!! Feeling fat righ now..haha

Paying it forward

Special thanx to valr for helping to design the poster and the phamplet. After doing up the booth, I stayed behind until 5.30pm to help another booth. They needed help because their group didn't have enough members.Haiz... hopefully all goes well tomorrow.

Stretched thin

At last, the carnival stuff is more or less finalised. But I just afraid that things may just go awry on the ay itself.. And POOF! There's goes the countless hours of preparation. There are many 'WHAT IFs' in my mind right now.. What is there is too little people for the carnival? (It should be good right? haha, then no need to do much.. juz sit at the booth and do nothing). Really, he's the leader and yet he's not doing anything.. It's juz so unfair. Because I do not have a class booth, I have to man the booth for the whole duration of the carnival.. Haiz.. Really short of manpower. Anybody wanna help? Juz to supervise and make sure nobody cheats during the course of the game.. Wanted to go swimming today but I ended late and it rained..

Tried asking my juniors to go for the carnival.. Well at least I tried.. to do my part for the school :)

Tpjc carnival cum open house is on this sat (from 10am to 4pm) with loads of games and attractive prizes to be won. Everything is free and Ronin will be playing at 12pm. Do come down if you are free!! Oh ya.. and the canteen is open this sat...

Went for a swim today. Already, I can see myself regaining my tan. The pool was really crowded today. Lots of kids. But I've got no choice as I don't forsee myself swimming this week due to preparations for the school's carnival and the kids skit (from kidsread programme-another commitment that I have) next Sunday. I've found out that the school will be dismissed early on thurs and Fri due to the upcoming carnival. :)))

Reading mania

Wipee!!! Haha.. I'm keeping myself busy by reading loads of storybooks. It's not that I'm not busy enough.. but.. somehow I prefer keeping myself occupied ( by reading) compared to monotonous studying.

I got scolded during gp class on mon :X Should have seen it coming.. Haiz. I dun like my gp tutor nowadays. Initially, I find him to be an okay teacher. Maybe I'm swayed by my friends MANY and I should say various views about him (sometimes funny, though degrading). He just can't seem to connect with us. Personally, I find his lessons interesting only when he start telling us stories but other than that, i dun think I've learnt much from his gp class that is useful for the exam paper.

Lance is really good in Econs, I must say. He's really well read and knowledgeable. We really learn a lot from him. I'm thankful to be in this econs group because my group members are really patient with me. Considering the fact that I am ignorant to loads of econs stuff due to my own laziness to read up. I fell kinda guilty and embarassed of being a free rider though.

SPE is real boring. I miss volleyball already! I'm envious of the classes under Commando lee's charge. I dun like basketball. Too much contact with each other-hazardous.

I went to TIMES bookshop today to continue reading Jeffrey Archer's sons of fortune. The plot is so similar to Kane and Abel! But enjoyed myself nevertheless. Almost wanted the buy the book which costs $17.90 but managed to restrain myself. Thought of renting the book instead as I dun think I will be able to find any more books from the sch library and tamp library. And when I went to SANS bookshop, guess wad I found?! I found a Michael Palmer book which I have not read! Yipee!! So I settled for the Michael Palmer book instead. Haha.. Not enough money to finance both books la... I weighed the opportunity costs and made the decision. Afterall, I've been hunting for the book for like 5 months? Jeffrey Archer can wait.. Haha.. Now I got 5 books to read for this long weekend.. :))))))

Watched campus superstar for the first time and instantly liked Teresa. Voted for her twice on an impulse (which is so unlike me). But was kind of relieved to find out that the sms messages didn't get through. I was disappointed when she lost but secretly happy that she lost at the same time because I feel that the superstar business is really not suited for her yet. Hopefully it's a blessing in disguise.

Thurs
Took time off from my busy schedule to swim at the newly renovated Tampines Swimming Complex. The place is just awesome. Many and larger pools, bigger toilets. Managed to roast myself in the sun for 1hr before it started raining (slightly). Now I can proudly say that I'M DARKER THAN XIAN!!! No longer a white chicken!

The afternoon off on thurs was also a much needed break from weeks of continuous studying for the many tests that I've had.

Found out that math, gp and econs common test starts before the June hols because of the 20th anniversary stuff. That means more studying.

I've been reading books by Jeffrey Archer lately. One exceptionally good book by him is Kane and Abel. It introduces you to the world of banking and business.

More and more people are joining maths society already! Tutoring math to sec school students is really a very enriching experience and we get CIP hours! And I've learnt how to create a cryptograph and decipher it..
