Oh NO!! My arms and butts are aching now. I hope this is a sign that my muscles are developing :)

Mummy, daddy and Sel coming back in a few hours! Yes! I've been missing them for the past 6 days. I regretted my choice for staying in Singapore. Should have just gone with them to Thailand and spare myself all the heartache and loneliness at home. I'm simply not used to the serenity at home. Their absence reminds me of how much I love and miss my lively and noisy? family.

But before that, I still have to wash my own clothes and tidy up the house before they come back. I don't want them to be in for a rude shock when they find the place in shambles... See, who says I don't do housework huh?

I went to Yoshinoya for my lunch. As usual, I ordered the beef bowl but unfortunately, I was served a semi hot beef bowl. Seriously, I think their standard is dropping... Or is it just me? Maybe the law of diminishing marginal returns sets in after consuming too many beef bowls..HA! Why can't nice things remain nice forever?

The sixth sense

is a well orchestrated movie by M. Night Shyamalan. Haley Joel Osment plays Cole Sear who is visited by ghosts. Frightened by the visitations from ghosts with unfinished businesses, Cole is too young to understand his purpose and afraid to tell anyone about his misery, except child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe played by Bruce Willis. Dr. Crowe tries to unveil the dark truth about Cole's supernatural abilities only to realise that he is actually dead.

Went to the gym with Valerie today. My butts are sore from pedalling the dunno-wads-that-thing stationary bicycle or something. Should have done some warm up before using the equipments. The objective of the work out was to develop some muscles on my arms and thighs and it wasn't really about losing weight. Therefore, I didn't run on the treadmill (just brisk-walked) and went to Mac's afterwards to try the new Teppanyaki burger :) Shaker fries is not as good as advertised but the burger was lip-smacking good!

SEX VCD

...stands for Sabrina, Eileen, Xian Hui, Valerie, Carleen and Diana. HAHA!! Thought about it while reading Xian's blog. Sorry ah... Not very original BUT... extremely comprehensive!!!

2 more days..

I met my cousin, Marie, and her friends (unexpected) for ice skating at Kallang. However, due to unforseen circumstances, the ice skating ring was demolished.

So, instead, we went to suntec city to watch the exorcism of Emily Rose. It wasn't as scary as House of wax though. Only the sound effects and a few scenes scared me, but other than that, it was just okay.

Then we went window shopping and it was kind of boring. As usual, I gave my boring comments here and there. I'm not a shopping person lah. I am just not interested in shopping. Maybe I am not a materialistic person so I do not really give a second look at things. I'll usually glance and just move on.

It's hard. Coz I want to go shop for new clothes as I am bored with my old ones. Any nice and cheap place to recommend?

I'm thinking of going for a complete make over but do not have the guts...Haiz.. no ideas or anything...

After a period of hesitation, I gave in to temptation and bought Craig David's album, the story goes... I should say that it was so unlike me because I've heard 1 of his songs on tv only. Furthermore I didn't even know him. Nevertheless, his songs were soothing, they reminded me of taufik's blessings initially. No surprise as both are R&B singers.

The songs that I like are Don't love you no more (I'm sorry) and Johnny. The former was the one that I saw on TV just after LOST and Johnny is about someone (most probably him) being bullied by Johnny. Something like a story.

Writer's block. Nothing else to write.

Eye Cyst

Since the visit to the doctor about the cyst under my left eye two weeks ago, the cyst has yet to ebb. Indeed, it is comparably smaller than before but this is really taking too long. It does not help when I found out yesterday that I have been applying the antiseptic for my eye wrongly for two weeks! No wonder it takes so long to recover!

Here's what the instruction of Chlortralim says:

Administration: Instill into the conjunctival sac 3 to 4 times daily.

Chlortralim is a gel- like ophthalmic ointment for the eye. Because it is gel- like, I didn't dare to instill it into my eye. How am I supposed to put that into my eye when half the time the gel refuses to displace itself from the neck of the tube? ( to give you a better idea, the tube of the ointment is similar to that of the superglue)

Therefore, I applied the ointment on the lump for 2 weeks.

I was supposed to see the doctor today again for a follow-up visit. He told me that he will refer me to the eye centre if the antibiotics and the other stuff do not work. But I do not want to go for some eye operation! I'll give myself one more week. Maybe I'll try to apply the ointment properly then. The internet says that I should apply warm compress on the eye to remove the cyst too. It suggested baking a potato in a microwave oven and wrapping it so that the potato will be able to retain heat for a long period of time. Unfortunately, I do not have a microwave at home. Do you think an oven will be able to do the job?

Anybody up for a potato party? Haha... I will not see the doc until I've exhausted all options!

Life is never a bed of roses

Many people are cognizant of this yet most forget. Life is never easy. People tend to find the easy way out and make their environment as comfortable as they possibly can. They are unwilling to push themselves beyond their limits but instead choose to rest on their laurels. Can't blame them, can we? Because we are only humans.

After all, not many would choose suffering over pleasure. To the bearers of pain, I salute all of you. It is arduous to keep forcing yourself to defeat your own self. But which is better? Being thrown in circumstances or pushing yourself in your own free will? The results differ.

Being thrown in tough situations will not leave you with any choice. You are forced to do this and that without comparing about how life has been in the past. Soon, all these little actions make you stronger without you ever knowing it. You will be pleasantly surprised with yourself at the end of the day.

However, pushing yourself towards betterment is hard as you are so accustomed to the rosy life that you have always had and are unwilling to give that all up. As a result, you make little improvements. You are discontented with your little success as you expect more from all the hard work. The determined ones will keep persevering on, the weak ones revert to their old ways.

The stark difference between the former and latter is the divergence of mindset. The people in the latter group should open up their minds and be mentally prepared to let go of their rosy lives. They should not be afraid to accept suffering as it is just part and parcel of life. In suffering, we find strength. That is why Mother Teresa once said that the strongest people are the poor and the suffering.

This is a quote from Tao Te Ching, it says:

If you want to become whole, let youself be partial.
If you want yourself to become straight, let yourself become crooked.
If you want to become full, let yourself become empty.
If you want to be reborn, let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything.....
Give everything up.

To give everything up is to give yourself a chance to discover the meaning of life, happiness and most importantly, yourself.

Toned legs+arms... HERE I COME!!!!

Just came back from exercising today. I jogged around 15 mins around Pasir Ris Secondary School which is equivalent to three rounds! Anybody have dumbells to spare? Does doing push-ups give you arm muscles or broaden your shoulders?

I had to exercise today because of the humongous amount of food I consumed yesterday. I had 2 breakfasts (almost had three) ytd and managed to restrain myself from eating the third one. Here's what I had...When I woke up at 7.30am, I had cornflakes. Then I went back to sleep until 9.30am. Then, SURPRISE! My mum bought nasi lemak on her way home from church. So I had to eat so as to prevent food wastage:)

Then I went to my grandfather's house. My grandfather bought a packet of bee hoon for us. I happily gave the packet to my mother as I thought of the dinner feast that we would be having latter. Have to reserve my stomach for something nice and expensive right?

So I had fish porridge for lunch and a bit of carrot cake. I pinched it from my mum.

Then we went to Phin's at tm in the night to have a belated celebration dinner for my bro who is in the ns now. I ordered Sambal sirloin steak (YUM!) and the waiter kept repeating our orders sooo loudly. Felt kinda embarassed lah.. Oh ya, and I had a humongous portion of steak too!

This afternoon, I mustered up the courage to weigh myself on the weighing scale. Despite all the pigging at home, I weighed 2kg less than before!!!!!! I was even tempted to forego today's run!!!! I had a pleasant surprise when the needle pointed to........ Nah... Shan't reveal too much... Looks like Xian owes me 70 CENTS for exercising weekly!!!! HAHA!!!!! Watch out for the NEW me when school reopens!

Hi there! I'm waiting for my bro to come out of the toilet so that I can p.s..... aargh...

[After 10 mins]

aaah.....Transaction done!

I was supposed to go jogging today but instead stayed at home to sleep. But.. no regrets there... no regrets. It was the nicest sleep ever. Kind of difficult to describe. The bed (as usual), my beloved pillow, although it is a tattered and torn Garfield one)... what made the setting nice I guess was the atmosphere and temperature of the room. It was just right. I had a smile on my face when I woke up.

In my 17 years, 2 months and 8 days of experience with sleeping, there are 4 kinds of sleep.
1)The ones that make you sweat ( nightmares, yourself running in your dream etc)
2)Dreams that end abruptly either bcoz u fall from your bed or you fall in your dream. INFURIATING!(Esp.... when u are about to kiss someone u love...HA!)
3) No dreams at all (most common)
4)No dreams but nice sleep (above)

Err... I can't think of anymore..

So I spent almost 12 hours sleeping today. Feeling kind of guilty as I still have heaps of homework that needs to be done. I'm questioning the necessity here as I thought of the logic behind my PW mates reasoning of not doing the hw. I have to admit that they have a point about the tutors not marking or pretending to mark. HA!

I went to the library yesterday and did something different. I borrowed magazines instead of books. I borrowed magazines on archaelogy, writing and National Geographic. Shall postpone my visit to the national library (maybe?) until I return ALL the mags and books! People! Good news! YOU CAN BORROW UP TO 8 BOOKS/MAGS USING 1 CARD FROM THE LIBRARY! Hurry! Go and grab em'!

Movies anyone?

Oh ya.. there will be 2 movies airing on Channel 5 today.. I think is the 7.45pm and the 10.30pm movie.Must watch!

The education system here is flawed. It is rigid in the sense that majority of the students are not able to pursue their areas of interest in school. For example, a typical secondary school student studies english, mathematics, science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology), mother tongue and humanities (History/Geography). For those who are naturally good in those subjects, good for them, they become the future chemists/biologists/mathematicians of our society.

Then, what about the 'not-so-talented' students in Singapore? By this, I refer to those who may not have the same level of ability as the first group but excel in their studies through sheer hard work. P.S. I am not trying to offend/question anyone's academic ability here. These are the students who get left out by the education system. Some students have a clear idea of what they want to do in their next 30/40 years but sadly, others do not. In the end, they get so upset with what they are doing and start job hopping. This affects the country's economy adversely. Students often discover their talent only later in life. This is ironic as I feel that the primary aim of an education system is to maximise the potential of its students.

While the education system is widely acclaimed for many of its academic successes , one must be mindful that the country should not be producing mathematicians only.' Different people have different abilities'. It is crucial for secondary schools to harness the diverse abilities of students so that the latter will be able to contribute to society and more importantly utilise whatever that have been bestowed to them.

Secondary schools can perhaps reduce their curriculum and introduce a wide range of electives for students to choose from. This, I believe, will have a certain degree of influence ontheir choice of study upon entering tertiary education. The advantages of this initiative are plenty. 1)Students will be aware of the different courses available and understand the nature of these courses. 2) Introducing these electives parallels the ministry's move to introducing of university courses in JCs.

Though it may be costly to fund electives in schools, I believe that the benefits in the long term will override the costs.

Hello everybody! This is my first post in my whole life and I am rather excitied about this. I mean... this is MY BLOG man... MY BLOG. 'Confessions' is an autobiography of my life for others to read.Duh! Being a person of few words (HA!), it is extremely difficult for me to pen my thoughts here.

I am at a loss for words right now as I do not really know what I should post here. Anyway, I shall start off with my day today.

I did a miraculous thing today. Nope, I didn't help an octogenarian cross the road today :)))) I didn't water the plants for my neighbour :))) I didn't do anything that people will perceive as being kind and helpful but.....

I EXERCISED TODAY! YES!!!!!! I woke up early in the morning and jogged around Pasir Ris secondary school for 10 MINS!!!!! Mind you, 10 mins=2 rounds=1.6km=achievement! Then I had chicken rice for lunch and you mian + yong tau foo for dinner. I guess I gained more calories from eating and all my efforts of running went down my stomach! The rest of the day was spent sleeping and just reading.

That's all folks! Off to watch TV!!!
