Metro Sale (50%)

The crowd at Metro is crazy la. Century square's exits are jam packked. Very difficult to get into and out of the mall. Everything is at a 50% discount as Metro is closing down soon. The sale will stretch till August, when they close down. I saw Mrs lee at Metro today.

Bought lots of stuff today. Wanted to make my specs but I would still have to pay $100+ even with the voucher. Decided to look at other shops first. I bought a pair of jeans and a shirt from BUM equipment for $10 only!!! Found out that there's a levis signature at tm!

Shopping at VivoCity

Took half a day off to shop. My loot for today? 2 tops and counting... Despite going to many shops, I don't think many clothes suit me. It's either I'm too conservative with my dressing or I'm just too picky. There's a mad and sudden urge in me to shop within the next two days. It's because of the kiasuness in me. To beat the gst hike. Even though I know that the difference would be very little for things that are not very pricey. But hey! Little+Little= A lot loh!!! Within the next two days, I plan to buy a pair of specs, stationery, hopefully shoes and havania's sandals... I need a new pair of specs in case you haven't notice...

Class outing

It felt like the old times again, us catching up with each other at parkway mac after cycling at ecp. It felt like we were at the roundtable of tpjc canteen laughing our heads off and joking with each other. Cycling at ecp was great. The bicycle was so smooth lah. The weather was good, sunny enough to get sun-kissed. It was great seeing almost everyone, the girls and the boys. Towards the end of the two hours, my butts were aching and I was very thirsty. We cycled to the hawker centre and I gulped down my sugarcane juice. It was heavenly! After returning the bikes, we walked to parkway parade. By this time, the sun was scorching hot. Cannot remember another time that it was as hot as that.

After lunch, we went to Katong to bowl. But the bowling alley was demolished. So we settled for pool instead. Pooling is really fun. Thank you to Qi Xiang who encouraged me to learn and play and to Diana and Xian for teaching me how to pool, the rules of the game and most importantly, the pose. Hahahahaha. It was a great experience. It didn't start well at first. Because my fingers were sticky from the cycling and I wasn't used to the stick. It took a couple of games to get me into the groove. But I got tired of the game after a while also. My stomach was giving me problems at that time. Maybe it was becoz I ate too much at lunch..

I reached home looking like a lobster. My face and my arms are RED. Till today, my arms are still red. I could feel my body literally radiating heat last night. As if steadily releasing all the heat that my body absorbed in the afternoon.

But I have a nice tan now. :) PS: I'm going to cycle to and at ecp again today. So coincidental huh? haha..

World Blood Donor's Day and Fantastic Four at GV, VivoCity

As my father's a Champion of Champion (he donated blood for more than 150 times), we were invited to go for a prize presentation and the screening of Fantastic Four (for free) at GV. Once we registered, we were given red carpet treatment by the NPCC. There were cameras flashing and hands clapping by the aisle and for an instant I felt like I was in the Oscars or Grammys Award (whatever). No lah, I didn't strike any pose for the cameras because I wasn't dressed for prom. But it felt amazing, and grand although it was at GV. Then we were served cocktail which consisted of chicken kebabs, beef satay (not the real ones) and some other finger food outside the theatre. No proper dinner with rice and all.

Then we hanged around as we still had an hour to go before we had to go inside the theatre to listen to some speeches first. The we saw several screenshots of the Champion donors just above the billboard of the movie's advertisement. It was cool to the max lah! We stayed to look at my father's picture. After that, we proceeded to listen to some speeches.

The movie only started at 9.30pm (after the advertisements). Although I don't recall reading any Fantastic Four books, the movie was entertaining and good.

Facial

We ( Badariah, her bf and I) went to this free facial trial which promised to give us $300 voucher for the first 50 callers. The facial experience would have been more pleasant if the staff didn't try to sell their programs to us. I felt conered at one point when my 'supervisor' ( they call themselves that) was persistent in selling the program despite me hinting to them that I wasn't interested. She was rude on several occasions and started asking me some irrelevant questions like ' are those two a couple?' and ' why are you working and not studying?' In a tone that was very degoratory, I felt like a school drop out at that time. She went on telling me about how 1 session is $80 dollars and 10 sessions would be $800. Less the ' $300 voucher' and I would have to pay $500 dollars and blah blah. One lesson that I have learnt from there is to tell them straight ( and forcefully) that I'm not interested in their program. Ha!

Once we agreed that I was only interested in their trial, she led me to this small 'room' that had curtains, just like a changing room except that there was a bed. During the facial, (in her last attempt to make me sign for the pricey program) she said: ' You have so many blackheads and still don't want to sign up for the program'.

After the facial, we were given this 3 piece facial kit and I ran to the toilet to wash my face. Whoa, my face was really smooth and soft. But this lasted for one night only. The next day, it returned back to normal.

Trina's birthday party

My niece is the girl in the purple dress. Look at the cake! That is a real barbie doll toy in the middle of the cake and nope, it cannot be eaten. Kudos to Coffee Bean for the astonishing architecture. It certainly was difficult to cut the cake.. I caught my cousin discussing on how to remove the barbie doll without demolishing the cake.. Ha! BTW, it's chocolate cake with cream icing :)

Swimming pool found in the middle of a canopy of rainforest! Ha!

Random pics- Paperclips

I did it out of boredom. Cool huh? This allows me to unleash the artistic genius in me! Ha! I wish..

Lunch @ The Line, Shangri-La

And finally, yes, the chocolate fondue. The last time I saw a chocolate fondue was at the Fullerton Hotel. We girls were gushing over the rich smell of chocolate and plotting to dip our fingers into it. See the sticks of biscuit and strawberries over there? I had fun dipping the stick into the fondue and giving it a whole new brown coat!
The Line has a very cosmopolitan feel. It reflects Singapore as a cosmopolitan country. There's Korean food, Sushi, Western food like pizza, baked potato with cheese, grilled chicken etc etc. Including local delights such as egg omelette, hot and sour soup, pau, siew mai, Fried Rice, fish with soy bean sauce, Satays, Prata (I was reminded of the prata from Ghim Moh), nand with fish curry, lamb curry and all the other curries and I tried the Indian rice.
I didn't try the Korean food and the Japanese Sushi. But I did try the baked potato with cheese and it was fantastic! The egg omelette is not as good as Blk 201's and the Fried Rice is above average but not something that I will come back for. My family commented that the food was not that hot, it wasn't even lukewarm. However, the satays were tender and tasty. Very good. I tried the prata with fish curry but I still think that Ghim Moh's better. The fish curry is thicker and spicier. I tried the nand and mixed the lamb curry and some other curry and it was really really spicy. The kind that makes your face turn red and eyes watery.
The desserts that you see on top is SINFUL! The desserts are very colourful and looks good but they didn't taste as good. I liked the chocolate ice cream with toppings only. The waitress took my order wrongly and gave me the orange ice cream that you see in the picture and it tasted weird. So I switched to the chocolate one instead.
Overall, I left with a heavy stomach. Off to my niece's birthday party and more food to come. (PS: The reason why I only managed to take pictures of the dessserts was because it was too troublesome to take the rest. It's difficult to open all the food covers and take pictures at the same time, while balancing my plate).

Oh ya.. I've thought about the kind of cca that I would like to join. I would like to join...............
A) Fencing. That's because I'm so fascinated by the fighting! Everytime when I watch a drama serial like the Return Of the Condor Heroes or any other chinese shows that involve sects, I feel like sparring!
B) Ice skating. It's so glamorous to ice skate. Don't you think?
C) In line skating. It's different from ice skating coz its just rollerblading, I think.
D) Dancing maybe? After watching Dirty Dancing: Haviana's night, I was mesmerized.
E) A movie club? Is there even one? Since I've been watching so many shows on tv.. I've always been telling myself that I'm making up for lost time since I didn't watch much when I was in primary school. I actually thought that movie watching was actually a waste of time! It was only in secondary school that my primary school friend opened me up to the movie world. Ironic huh?
F) Not forgetting..... an EATING club.. Hahahaha...

Cathching Blades of Glory later!

I've finally accepted NTU's offer after much deliberation. It wasn't easy. It would be good for the students if there are greater collaboration between the universities and less competition though.

I've been losing my temper so easily nowadays. Is it because I place and expect high standards of everyone? Aargh.
